Born 1971, lives and works in Birmingham
Since 2011, Paul Hirst is the curator at the Bond Café Gallery and has been working as the artist in residence at the Bond Company.
My work conveys the landscapes and environments that surround me and explore the idea of a “Sense of Place” through the medium of paint with a particular focus on colour and simplifying form. I am interested in the way we view and interpret environments and how we are informed by many factors, including our experiences, interests and imagination and how this affects our interpretations of landscape painting.
