I’m a self-taught abstract artist who wanted to go to art college after leaving school but was persuaded otherwise. At the age of 55, I finally realised my long-held, but dormant, dream of becoming an artist. Much of my work is large format, ideally to be hung in big open spaces that afford the viewer the full scale and impact. All of it is acrylic paint on canvas, occasionally I use enamel paint and various mediums to add more depth and texture to the acrylics. My studio is my haven, a place where I lose myself amongst the canvas and paint. Abstract art offers something different to each of us, we all have the ability to interpret the forms and colours in our own unique way. For me and my work, that’s all that’s required……an interpretation.
